Virtues Of The 10 Days Of Dzul Hijjah

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE 10 DAYS OF DZUL HIJJAH

These days are very special. In one hadith Nabi Sallallahu alaihi wassalam said: “There’s no day in which acts (a’maal) are more beloved to Allah than these 10 days. The Sahabah (ra) asked: even Jihad? Nabi saw said, not even jihad, unless he goes for jihad, and never come back (martyred)”

These are the days of Allah.

It’s narrated in another hadith that Nabi Sallallahu alaihi wassalam said: “There’s no days in which the deeds are so heavy and more loved to Allah than the first 10 days of Zul Hijjah.(Nabi saw said further in Tabrani) so increase your tasbihaat.”

DEEDS FOR US TO PERFORM :

1- Increase tasbihaats (Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah, Lailahaillah, Allahu Akbar) after solahs.

2- Fasting during these 10 days (the reward is like fasting the entire year).

3- To read Solat Tahajjud during the nights is like reading Tahajjud in Lailatul Qadar ( a night which is better and more virtues than 1000 months)

4- Fasting (specially) on the 9th day will InsyaAllah expiates the sins of 2 years (a year before and a year after). This is highly recommended.

5- Qurbani / Sacrificing an animal.
The reward is the sins will be washed away as the blood of the slaughtered animal flows. This act of Qurbani will purify all the sins.
( if we slaughter the animal by ourselves, then we will get the meat as well, and it is sunnah to take 1/3 of the meat for yourself, 1/3 for the relatives, and 1/3 for the poor. The only thing one can’t do is to sell it.)
